Mineral casting technology

An important component of DEED machines is the use of mineral casting technology for the machine frame. Instead of traditional cast iron, a mineral composite is used, consisting of natural minerals and resin.

This material forms the basis of the machine and has a direct influence on performance, accuracy, and stability. Through continuous development and extensive testing in their own facilities, this technology is constantly refined and improved.

Excellent vibration damping

One of the biggest advantages of mineral casting is its exceptional vibration damping. Compared to steel or cast iron, the damping capacity is significantly higher. During machining, vibrations are absorbed much faster, which ensures:
  • Better surface quality
  • Fewer chatter marks (vibrations)
  • Longer tool life

High thermal stability

Temperature fluctuations have a major influence on accuracy. Mineral casting has low thermal conductivity and high thermal capacity, which means the material barely reacts to temperature fluctuations.

This results in:
  • Minimal deformation of the machine frame
  • Consistent dimensional stability throughout the day
  • Stable performance, even during longer machining cycles

Accuracy and stability

Because mineral casting cures at a low temperature, no internal stresses arise as with cast iron. This ensures that the frame remains dimensionally stable in the long term.

Proven technology

For this technology, DEED works closely with KLEMENT, a subsidiary with specialized knowledge in mineral casting. This technology is also used by other (European) machine builders, which underscores that mineral casting has proven itself in practice as a stable and reliable foundation for high-quality CNC machines.

Flexible design and integration

The material is poured into molds and compacts itself. This allows complex structures and integrated elements to be incorporated directly into the frame, such as:
  • Integrated cable channels
  • Mounting surfaces and inserts
  • Stiffness and weight optimization
